Ingredients

Base cocktail and garnish
  • 2 oz butterscotch schnapps Provides the butterscotch flavor.
  • 1.5 oz apple vodka Use regular vodka if you prefer; keep apple cider for the apple note.
  • 1 oz apple cider Adds fruity tang and aroma.
  • 0.5 oz caramel vodka Option: use 1 tbsp caramel sauce instead.
  • 1 oz cream or half-and-half Optional for a creamier texture.
  • ice For shaking and chilling.
  • caramel sauce Drizzle inside the glass to set; use the caramel vodka equivalent if swapping.
  • thin apple slice Garnish.
  • cinnamon stick Garnish.

Equipment

  • 1 cocktail shaker

Method

Make the caramel-lined glass
  1. Drizzle caramel sauce inside a chilled coupe or martini glass, ensuring a visible streak down the interior. Refrigerate for 5 minutes so the caramel sets.
Shake the cocktail
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice to bring everything down to a cold temperature and keep the drink from warming. Add butterscotch schnapps, apple vodka, apple cider, caramel vodka, and cream if using.
  2. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds with the shaker closed so the liquids blend smoothly. Double-strain into the prepared caramel glass to keep the texture silky and clean.
Garnish and serve
  1. Place a thin apple slice on top of the drink as a crisp garnish. Finish by adding a cinnamon stick alongside the slice for warm spice aroma.

Notes

Pro tip: chill the coupe (and the caramel-drizzled glass) before shaking so the drink stays golden and stays balanced. Refrigerate leftover assembled but unshaken components up to 1 day; assembled cocktails are best served immediately and do not keep well. Freezing isn’t recommended for this drink. Dietary swap: for a dairy-free version, use an orange-tinged cream substitute or omit the cream/half-and-half for a lighter, sharper finish.
