Ingredients

Layered drink components
  • 0.25 cup grenadine syrup Use room temperature or slightly cool so it pours slowly and settles cleanly.
  • 0.5 cup lemonade, chilled Chill well for sharper layer separation.
  • 0.25 cup blue raspberry sports drink or blue raspberry lemonade, chilled Chill to help it float into a distinct top layer.
  • 1 Ice cubes Fill the glass almost to the top for the best floating layers.
  • 1 Maraschino cherries and striped straws for garnish Add on top without stirring to keep layers intact.

Method

Build the layers
  1. Fill a tall clear glass with ice cubes almost to the top.
  2. Pour grenadine syrup slowly over the ice, letting it sink to the bottom to form the first layer.
  3. Hold a spoon just above the ice and gently pour the chilled lemonade over the back to create a clean middle layer.
  4. Use the same spoon-and-pour method to float the chilled blue raspberry drink over the spoon as the top layer.
  5. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and a striped straw, then serve immediately without stirring.

Notes

For the sharpest three-layer look, chill the lemonade and blue raspberry drink thoroughly and pour slowly while holding the spoon just above the ice. Store any leftovers in the fridge up to 24 hours, but note the layers will mix once stirred or sat too long; freezing is not recommended. Swap in zero-sugar lemonade or a lower-sugar blue raspberry drink if you want a lighter option without changing the layering method.
